Acoustic nebulisation of siRNA for inhalation drug delivery

Aerosolisation of small interfering RNA (siRNA) is a shear-intensive process that may compromise its biological activity. In this study, we characterised the aerosolisation of siRNA using Nebuflow acoustic nebuliser to evaluate its impact on functional integrity. Our findings demonstrate that siRNA can be efficiently aerosolised without any detectable loss of biological activity, supporting the suitability of acoustic nebulisation as a delivery method for siRNA-based therapeutics.
